Foster Ellis, Jr. President / CEO of  General Maintenance Systems, Inc., has extensive business experience and is an advocate on behalf of small and minority-owned businesses. GENERAL MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS, Inc. employs people from our local and surrounding communities. Our core business is in facility management with emphasis on commercial and residential services. We offer janitorial, post construction clean-up, property grounds maintenance, building renovations and construction, high rise window cleaning and carpet, tile and wood floor cleaning and restoration. We also provide snack food vending services, specializing in healthful foods, and business consulting services.

F. Ellis, Jr. volunteers in various capacities to enhance minority small business interests. He serves weekly as a mentor to underprivileged boys at a local elementary school.  Beyond offering lessons from his personal experiences to area students, Ellis provides job training skills and other educational opportunities to ex-convicts and many others who need a second chance.

In 1996, F. Ellis, Jr. was recognized as one of the  Top 40 Businessmen by the Mississippi Business Journal and Regions Bank. He is also a graduate of the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Jackson program and District Chairman of the Andrew Jackson Council of Boy Scouts for the Central District. Other memberships include 100 Black Men of America, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, City of Jackson Reserve Police Force, Board Chairman of "Keep Jackson Beautiful" the Hinds County Private Industry Council Board of Directors and the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

The Mississippi Department of Economic and Community Development Minority Business Enterprise Division recognized General Maintenance Systems, Inc. as its 1997 Minority Business Of The Year.
